Dear Families,
As recently announced in our latest newsletter, we are excited to be introducing our new Richmond Primary School logo, a design shaped by our students that celebrates our school's diversity, inclusivity and sense of belonging. ❤️🌏
The development of our new logo has been a thoughtful and collaborative process, involving our students, staff and school leadership. Our Governing Council has also been an integral part of the discussions throughout this process, providing valuable input and consideration, particularly around the introduction of the new logo and its impact on our school community.
We understand that the introduction of a new logo may raise questions about school uniforms, particularly around the cost of replacing existing items. We would like to reassure all families that there is absolutely no need to purchase new uniforms because of the logo change.
👕 What Does This Mean for School Uniforms?
We are committed to making this transition as smooth, gradual and affordable as possible for our families.
✅ No need to replace existing uniforms – Students can continue wearing their current Richmond Primary School uniforms with the original logo.
✅ A gradual transition over several years – The new logo will be introduced progressively, allowing families to purchase updated uniforms only when their child naturally needs new items as they grow.
✅ No set deadline – There is no requirement for families to change to the new logo by a particular date. Both the existing and new logos will be accepted throughout the transition.
✅ Reducing unnecessary costs and waste – We want families to get the full use out of the uniforms they have already purchased.
🛍️ Purchasing uniforms with the new logo – Uniforms featuring our new school logo will not be available for purchase until 2027. Families can continue purchasing and wearing uniforms with the existing logo in the meantime. Further information regarding the availability of our new uniforms will be shared with families closer to their release.
❤️ Our Commitment to Families
We recognise the financial pressures many families are experiencing and want to assure you that this change is not intended to create any additional financial burden.
Throughout our discussions, including those with Governing Council, an important consideration has been ensuring that the transition is practical, financially responsible and supportive of all families.
Our approach is simple: Keep wearing what you have and only purchase new uniforms when you need them.
Over time, the original logo will naturally be phased out as students grow and new uniforms are purchased.
Thank you for your continued support as we embrace this exciting new chapter for Richmond Primary School. We look forward to seeing our new logo gradually become part of our school community while ensuring the transition remains practical, inclusive and affordable for everyone. 🌟
Kind regards,
Richmond Primary School Leadership Team
